Sounds from Space

I was watching the video of the Atlantis Shuttle Launch last week on youtube which shows all the different camera angles as it launches. Some parts look really amazing especially that parts where you can see the whole earth coming into view, but i thought the sounds from the SRB intertanks sounded even amazinger.

I figured they would sound pretty neat together so i took the audio from the left SRB intertank and panned it to the left audio channel and panned the right SRB to the right channel and this is what it sounds like: (sounds best with headphones on!) Continue reading

Kickstarter Projects: Alan Watts and Terence McKenna

For those of you that have not heard of Kickstarter its a website that helps fund creative projects that range from film, music, design, technology and publishing. First, you create a pitch/video of what your project is about, then you make rewards that will entice people to donate more to your project. You then have a certain number of days to reach your target. If it does not reach its target in time any money donated to the project will not be taken out of anyone’s account. If it does reach its target then everybody ends up getting cool things such as Diasporathe CosmonautKind of Bloop, and the Glif.

Google rewrites Joyce’s Wake… again

It looks like Google has updated their audio transcription feature on youtube since i posted about it last year (Google rewrites Finnegans Wake). Its really just the same nonsense as the last one but it does seem to get a few more words right this time round… maybe 10-15 altogether. Well done Google.

Odd words to look out for: bare-breasted rifles, IBM, lol, dot com, the golden brown!, e-mails, a few mentions of the government here and there like the last one.

Unfortunately Bill Clinton doesn’t make an appearance in this one but Reagan does, along with Joni Mitchell, Katie Couric, Jeff Toobin, Betty Ford and other fictional characters Lori Milroy, Cairo Clooney, Gregory, Julie and Goldberg.

.

So here is Google’s second draft: (if your not familiar with the book watch the video below first and then read this)
